SOCIAL JUSTICE COMMITTEE

Serving people to live in dignity and peace.

Spirit in Action, our social justice group, was formed to
serve people in our community, across the country and
throughout the world to live in dignity and peace. The
issues we are currently focusing on are homelessness,
immigration and refugees, at-risk youth and mental health.

We join with other organizations working in these areas.
Our mission: Connect with the community to insure love
and equality to all. We meet First Sunday of the month
after our Sunday gathering in the office. Contact Lorraine
at info@universalspiritcenter.org

Join us for our monthly meeting after our gathering on the First Sunday of each month.

Come participate in our social justice efforts at Universal Spirit Center.

Volunteer with PATH

PATH (People Assisting the Homeless) is a local non-profit organization that provides multiple services to the unsheltered in San Diego. Each day, PATH volunteers prepare, cook and deliver meals to the guests staying at the downtown facility.

If you would like to come and volunteer at PATH, our next date together is Tuesday February 28 at 5:00 pm. Please sign up here.

Global Heart Tithe

In accord with our intention to actively participate in the universal flow of abundance, Universal Spirit Center awards grants totaling 10% of all incoming donations. These grants, collectively known as our Global Heart Tithe, are all made in the name of our spiritual community.

Back to School Time

The school year is beginning earlier than ever before and many students will need help getting the supplies they need to have a successful start to the new year. The San Diego Refugee Tutoring Project  (501 3C)  is entering its fifteenth year to organize needed school supplies for refugee/immigrant students in the City Heights community.

Please consider purchasing school supplies for students from these two Amazon Wishlists (NOTE: When prompted for address, select “Joan Sadorf’s address for delivery”).

Paper Bag Ministry

Each month, we fill bags with water, snacks and personal hygiene products. We collect the filled bags and share them with PATH (People Assisting the Homeless) or you can take bags with you and distribute them personally when you come across someone that may want one.
