SOCIAL JUSTICE COMMITTEE

Serving people to live in dignity and peace.

Spirit in Action, our social justice group, was formed to serve people in our community, across the country and throughout the world to live in dignity and peace. Among the issues addressed are homelessness, immigration, women’s rights, equality for all, gun control, refugees – just to name a few. We join with other organizations working in these areas.

Our mission: Connect with the community to insure love and equality to all. We meet First Sunday of the month after our Sunday gathering in the office. Contact Viraj at info@universalspiritcenter.org

Join us for our monthly meeting after our gathering on the First Sunday of each month.

Come participate in our social justice efforts at Universal Spirit Center.

Wear Blue Day January 11, 2024
to bring awareness to Human Trafficking Prevention

Human trafficking affects millions across the globe. Each January, the Center for Countering Human Trafficking’s (CCHT) Blue Campaign recognizes National Human Trafficking Prevention Month (HTPM) to raise awareness of and combat this heinous crime.

January 11 marks National Human Trafficking Awareness Day, also known as #WearBlueDay. On this day, Blue Campaign invites individuals and offices to:
Wear blue, the international color of human trafficking awareness, to state your commitment to help save lives. Need inspiration? See how other organizations have participated.

Post a photo of yourself, or with your colleagues, on your personal or organization’s social media channels using the hashtag #WearBlueDay to show your commitment to wearing blue and raising awareness! You can also download ready-to-use #WearBlueDay.

If you chose to take a selfie on #WearBlueDay, please send completed pictures to virajward@gmail.com to be honored on the Sunday slide show.

Volunteer with PATH

PATH (People Assisting the Homeless) is a local non-profit organization that provides multiple services to the unsheltered in San Diego. Each day, PATH volunteers prepare, cook and deliver meals to the guests staying at the downtown facility.

If you would like to come and volunteer at PATH, our next date together is Tuesday February 28 at 5:00 pm. Please sign up here.
